Thrift store manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
DEFINITION: The Thrift Store Manager has specific duties listed below.
MONITORING: The Thrift Store Manager reports to the Pantry Manager and the Chairman of the Board.
The board will conduct an annual job performance review/evaluation
and make necessary adjustments to responsibilities and salary based on performance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
- Clean and maintain exhibition areas
- Complete tax donation forms upon request for donations received
- Pricing and displaying items to ensure shelves stay stocked and orderly
- Schedule volunteers and maintain schedule to ensure opening hours are covered
- Schedule fundraisers on the calendar
- Assist in unloading donations
- Supervise volunteers and provide instructions for tasks to be performed
- Keep up to date the register of hours worked for each pay period
- Oversee the daily operation of the thrift store
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills (communication, accountability, collaboration)
- Basic knowledge or training opportunity in cash register and computer operation
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be able to pick up at least 25 pounds
Hours and pay
- Average of 30 to 35 hours per week, never exceeding 35 hours per week
- Remuneration is $10 per hour to be paid on the 1st and 15and of each month
