DEFINITION: The Thrift Store Manager has specific duties listed below.

MONITORING: The Thrift Store Manager reports to the Pantry Manager and the Chairman of the Board.

The board will conduct an annual job performance review/evaluation

and make necessary adjustments to responsibilities and salary based on performance.


  • Clean and maintain exhibition areas
  • Complete tax donation forms upon request for donations received
  • Pricing and displaying items to ensure shelves stay stocked and orderly
  • Schedule volunteers and maintain schedule to ensure opening hours are covered
  • Schedule fundraisers on the calendar
  • Assist in unloading donations
  • Supervise volunteers and provide instructions for tasks to be performed
  • Keep up to date the register of hours worked for each pay period
  • Oversee the daily operation of the thrift store

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills (communication, accountability, collaboration)
  • Basic knowledge or training opportunity in cash register and computer operation
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to pick up at least 25 pounds

Hours and pay

  • Average of 30 to 35 hours per week, never exceeding 35 hours per week
  • Remuneration is $10 per hour to be paid on the 1st and 15and of each month
