Five booked to scrape the store manager in Gurugram, stealing Rs 2L | News from Gurgaon

GURUGRAM: Police convicted five people on Sunday for allegedly beating the manager of a Maruti Nexa store in Sushant Lok 1 on December 5 and stealing 2 lakh Rs from him.
The manager, Abhishek, had closed his store and was on his way home when a group of men arrested him near Tulip Chowk in the village of Fazilpur. They attacked him with a hammer and hit him on the head until he lost consciousness, police said.
The accused then allegedly snatched 2 lakh Rs and a cell phone from Abhishek. Later, passers-by rescued Abhishek and took him to the Sector 10 civilian hospital. They also informed the police about the case.
Abhishek told TOI on Sunday that he could file a complaint with the police after a week of the attack. “As soon as I got out (of the hospital) the first thing I did was identify which jurisdiction the area falls under, and then I immediately filed the complaint,” he said.
Abhishek, police said, received two blunt wounds to the head. An FIR in the case was registered at Badshapur Police Station under Articles 148 (riots armed with deadly weapon), 149 (illegal assembly), 323 (willfully causing injury), 379-B (Intention to committing theft) of the IPC.
Two of the five defendants appear to be known criminals, police said. “We are checking nearby CCTV cameras for the men. Police are on alert. Two men appear to be known criminals, but we cannot confirm that yet,” the police official said.
